NatuFAQ

Arcadians, founded in 1950, is situated near Billericay in Essex. We are a family club, owned and run by our members, within 4.5 acres of woodland.

We have a happy, friendly atmosphere with sunbathing lawns, swimming pool, sauna, showers, flush toilets and a playground for the children. All of these are cared for and maintained by the members.

Our refurbished swimming pool (approx 17m x 5m), in use from May till October, is heated to an average 28 deg C.

Sporting facilities include: miniten, badminton, petanque, table tennis, snooker/pool, darts and volley bounce, with sporting competitions (not too serious).

Social functions and winter indoor pursuits feature in our club diary of all year round activities.

During the summer informal BBQ's and games evenings are often a feature of our weekend.

At the club, a clubhouse and pavilion both with kitchens, have electricity, cooking facilities, fridges/freezers and water available for member's use.

For a small fee, tent sites are available for members wishing to make use of their own tents (sorry, no caravans) to camp overnight or longer.

We are sorry that we cannot entertain casual visitors but membership enquiries are welcome.

Nature at Greenglades

At Greenglades we are blessed not only with beautiful wild floral displays of daffodils, primroses and bluebells in Spring, many species of birds and animals visit us too. We have moorhens and mallard ducks on our pond, a variety birds including woodpeckers, blue tits, great tits, robins and pheasants. The antics of the squirrels chasing each other up and down the trees often entertains us and the bunnies hop around when they think we are not looking. What a wonderful place our woodland retreat is!!
